JULY 21
An Ark City man was the victim of burglary in the 200 block of E Chestnut.
An Ark City female was the victim of criminal damage to her vehicle in the 1200 block of North D.
An Ark City female was the victimof criminal damage to property in the 500 block of E VanBuren.
Hometown Rentals was the victim of theft.
An Ark City man was the victim of theft in the 400 block of N First.
An Ark City man was the victim of theft from his vehicle at 616 N Summit.
Roxanne Allen, Ark City, was cited for cruelty to animales in the 100 block of N Fourth.
An Ark City male was the victim of criminal damage to his vehicle in the 800 block of S Sixth.
A vehicle was impounded in the 100 block of E Virginia.
An Ark City female was the victim of theft in the 1400 block of South J.
JULY 22
Tyler Hibbs, Ark City, was arrested for driving with a suspended license in the 1500 block of N Summit.
Sonnie Engelking, Ark City, was arrested on a warrant in the 100 block of W Central.
Brittany Harrison, Ark City, was arrested for private property sales in the 1400 block of N Second.
An Ark City man was the victim of theft at 411 North A.
An Ark City man was the victim of theft in the 400 block of E Jefferson.
An Ark City woman was the victim of battery, disorderly conduct and domestic violence. Frank Huster was arrested in connection.
A Newkirk woman was the victim of vehicle theft.
Roy McDonald, Ark City, was arrested on a warrant in the 1000 block of North B.
Winfield Police Report for July 22, 2010
Officers responded to alarms in the 1400 and 1700 blocks of Main.
Alan K Hopper and Larry W Hopper, both of Winfield, were the victims of criminal damage to property in the 3400 block of Central.
The City of Winfield was the victim of burglary and Winfield Fast Pitch was the victim of theft in the 1000 block of Broadway.
Winfield Daily Courier was the victim of theft in the 200 block of E Ninth.
Richard R Fogle, Ark City, was cited for speeding in the 700 block of Main.

were dispatched to check a vehicle that had hit a large rock on the highway in the 4000 block of K-15.
were contacted concerning a child custody issue involving county residents.
checked a truck having repair problems in the 22000 block of US 160.
were contacted regarding suspicious activity in the 8000 block of 21st Rd.
transported a prisoner to the county jail for the Ark City Police Department.
were dispatched to the 13000 block of 21st Rd regarding hay that had been mowed without the owner's knowledge.
cited a Burden area resident for speeding and driving with a suspended license.
JULY 22

assisted a pedestrian walking to Winfield in the 14000 block of US 77.
were dispatched to check a report of two horses out on the highway in the 15000 block of US 160.
were dispatched to a prowler report in the 31000 block of 55th Dr.

Deputies:
were dispatched to the 16000 block of 61st Rd where a resident was found deceased of what was determined to have been a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
were dispatched to a disturbance in the 31000 block of 61st Rd.
were dispatched to a reckless driver complaint at US 160 and 251st Rd.
were notified of an oxygen bottle being lost off a truck somewhere between the 24000 block of 85th Rd and Ark City.
were dispatched to a landlord/tenant issue in the 29000 block of Ararad Ln.
were dispatched to check an unknown person walking in the area of the 9000 block of 242nd Rd.
and Ark City Police officers were advised of a possible drunk driver in the vicinity of the 800 block of N Summit, Ark City. A deputy observed and stopped the vehicle and subsequently arrested a 26-year-old Newkirk, OK, resident for driving under the influence.
were dispatched to a criminal trespass complaint in the 31000 block of 61st Rd.
observed and checked a female going through items outside Sheldon's Pawn Shop, Ark City.
were dispatched to check a possible underage drinking party in the 31000 block of 61st Rd. Several persons ran from the scene upon the arrival of deputies. One juvenile was cited for minor in consumption. assisted Ark City Police officers with a report of juveniles attempting to crawl over the fence at Carter's Pawn Shop in the 500 block of W Madison.
were dispatched to a loud party complaint in the 2000 block of Fairway LN.
were dispatched to a disturbance in the 6000 block of 222nd Rd.
JULY 9
were dispatched to a one vehicle non-injury accident in which the vehicle swerved to avoid a deer, went off the road and struck a fence.
were dispatched to a report of a male being struck by a car in the 16000 block of 151st Rd.
were dispatched to check a reported disabled motorist in the 31000 block of US 77.
were dispatched to assist the Ark City Police Department in locating a runaway juvenile female. Several locations were checked and the juvenile subsequently was located in the 31000 block of 61st Rd by officers for the Ark City Police Department. Deputies assisted in the transport of a prisoner.
were dispatched to the 2200 block of Fairway Ln in connection with a previous call about fireworks being shot at a subjects vehicle.
were dispatched to the 11000 block of 192nd Rd in reference to a four wheeler that had been found on the side of the road. The owner was subsequently located.
were dispatched to the 33000 block of 61st Rd to assist Ark City officers who were doing follow-up on some cases that had occurred in Ark City.
were dispatched to the 17000 block of 212th Rd for a report of cattle on the roadway.
were dispatched to the 29000 block of Eastridge Dr for a report of juvenile problems.
were dispatched to the 7000 block of State Street Road for a report of cattle on the roadway.
took a report at the Sheriff's Office in regards to a lost or stolen registration and license plate decal.
were dispatched to the 300 block of Random Rd in regards to a civil process which had occurred and the recovery of property.
were dispatched to the 5000 block of 272nd Rd for a report of criminal trespass.
were dispatched to the 15000 block of 212th Rd for a report of a vehicle fire.
were dispatched to the 7000 block of 252nd Rd for a report of a domestic disturbance. While responding tot he call, the male half was seen leaving the area. A subsequent traffic stop was made. A 23 year old white male, Ark City, was arrested and transported to the Cowley County jail where he was booked in on the charges of battery and driving on a suspended license. He was also cited for no seat belt. The battery occurred in Winfield and that case was turned over to the Winfield Police Department.
were dispatched to the 20000 block of 112th Rd for a miscellaneous animal report regarding a skunk.
were dispatched to the 9000 block of 154th Rd for a report of suspicious items found near the roadway.
were dispatched to the 1200 block of E Third for an offender residence check.
were dispatched to the 31000 block of 53rd Rd for a report of fireworks being discharged.
were dispatched to the 7000 block of 71st Rd for an agency assist with the Udall Police Department regarding a possible driving under the influence traffic stop.
conducted a traffice stop in regards to speeding. Upon subsequent investigation, the driver, a 43 year old white female, Ark City, was found to be driving under the influence. She was arrested and transported to the Cowley County jail where she was booked in on charges of driving under the influence of alcohol, third offense, driving on a suspended license and child endangerment.
JULY 10
Deputies:
were disatched to the 31000 block of 53rd Dr for a report of a domestic disturbance. Prior to deputies arrival, the female half had already left the area. No physical contact had occurred.
were dispatched to the 20000 block of 71st Rd for an accident report where a vehicle had failed to make a curve and struck a culvert and sign. The driver was not at the scene.
were dispatched to a burglary alarm in the 7000 block of 222nd Rd. The structure was found to be secure.
were dispatched to the 500 block of Oak in Burden for a missing child. Prior to deputies arrival, the Burden police officer called and said the child was found hiding in a closet.
were dispatched to the 18000 block of 101st Rd for a criminal damage to property report regarding a vehicle driving through a soybean field. This case was related to a vehicle accident that was reported on this same date.
were dispatched to the 18000 block of 101st Rd for a vehicle accident report regarding a vehicle on its top lying in a creek bed south of K360 on Joel Mack Rd. After further investigation, the driver was found to have a suspended driver's license. The driver was arrested and transported to the Cowley County jail where the 23 year old white male, Augusta, was booked in on the following charges, driving on a suspended driver's license, failure to report an accident, leaving the scene of an accident, obstructing legal process, no insurance, no seat belt, and illegal registration. The driver was to make contact with the owner of the soybean field to make restitution on the damage to the soybean field.
were dispatched to the 13000 block of US 160 for a welfare check on a man walking along the highway who appeared to be having seizures. The Emergency Medical Services was called and transported him to Newton Memorial Hospital.
transported a prisoner to the Cowley County jail for the Ark City Police Department.
checked on a vehicle in the 19000 block of 71st Rd that was related to a previous criminal trespass report that had been filed. The owner/driver could not be located.
were dispatched to the 8000 block of Kanza Ln for a suspicious vehicle parked in a driveway. Later it was found that the owner of the vehicle had permission to be on the property.
were dispatched to the 15000 block of US 166 for a theft report regarding 100 T-posts that had been stolen.
were dispatched to the 10000 block of 91st Rd for a disturbance regarding an argument over the disciplining of a juvenile. The problem had been worked out prior to deputies arrival.
were dispatched to the 27000 block of US 77 for a report of a possible drunk driver.
JULY 11
Deputies:
were dispatched to the 16000 block of 21st Rd for a report of suspicious activity in reference to a vehicle.
were dispatched to the 10000 block of 282nd Rd for a report regarding a subject having mental problems.
on routine patrol in the 33000 block of US 77 observed a vehicle speeding. The vehicle was stopped and upon subsequent investigation, the driver was found to be driving under the influence of alcohol. The 31 year old male, Ark City, was transported and booked into the Cowley County jail on the charge of driving under the influence of alcohol.
were dispatched to the 16000 block of US 160 to check on a vehicle parked in the roadway.
were dispatched to the 8000 block of 141st Rd near the Winfield City Lake for a report of a missing person. The individual was subsequently found hiding in a camper.
were dispatched to the 300 block of Skyline Rd for a burglary alarm. Due to deputies not being close, the Ark City Police checked the alarm and the structure was found to be secure.
were contacted by the Ark City County Club in regards to trespassers they were having at night who were tampering with golf carts. Extra patrol was requested.
were dispatched to the 400 block of Fifth St in Atlanta for a miscellaneous animal report regarding some dogs.
returned a call in reference to a previous case that had been reported in the 2000 block of Fairway Ln in regards to fireworks having been discharged. Additional information was obtained and possible evidence collected.
were dispatched to the 100 block of Shady Ln for a report regarding child/parent issues.
were dispatched to the 28000 block of 162nd Rd for a report of suspicious activity regarding brake lights on a vehicle coming on.
were dispatched to the 19000 block fo 111th Rd for a report regarding criminal trespass.
JULY 12

were dispatched to the 31000 block of 55th Ct for a report of suspicious activity regarding an unknown man trying to open a door to the residence.
were dispatched to the 7000 block of 222nd Rd for a burglary alarm. The structure was found to be secute.
were dispatched to Cowley County Mental Health at Strother Field regarding the theft of three air conditioning units.
were dispatched to the 2000 block of 82nd Rd regarding a neighborhood dispute.
were contacted regarding a civil property dispute in the Atlanta area.
took a stolen tag report from a resident in the 9000 block of 85th Ct.
were contacted regarding a child custody issue in the 8000 block of 301st Rd.
were dispatched to check the welfare of dogs at a residence in the 21000 block of Hoover Ave. All dogs could not be located at that time.
and Udall Police officers arrested Jason Lee Smith at a residence in Udall on three warrants from Greene County, Tennessee, for delivery of controlled substances.
completed checking the dogs in the 21000 block of Hoover Ave.
were dispatched to a domestic disturbance in the 27000 block of 101st Rd. A man was arrested for battery and was transported to the county jail.
were dispatched to a domestic disturbance in the 3000 block of N 15th, Ark City.
assisted Ark City Police officers in locating and arresting a Winfield resident on a domestic battery charge occurring in Ark City.
assisted Winfield Police officers with a combative prisoner being delivered to the county jail.
The Sumner County Sheriff's Office requested assistance in locating a suspect who had been involved in a disturbance near Mulvane and was reportedly en route to Udall. However, within minutes of that request the suspect was located and stopped while still in Sumner County.
JULY 13
Deputies:
were dispatched to check a disabled vehicle in the 14200 block of 51st Rd. The male with the vehicle subsequently ran from deputies and the vehicle was found to have been stolen in an aggravated burglary/sexual assault investigation just starting to be investigated by the Sedgwick County Sheriff's Office. The suspect was later apprehended in Winfield and was ultimately returned to Sedgwick County.
were dispatched to a domestic disturbance in the 14000 block of 112th Rd.
were dispatched to a report of someone attempting to remove a trailer house from property in the 20000 block of 122nd Rd. The removal was determined to be a legal repossession.
were dispatched to a minor one car non-injury accident in the 10000 block of 312th Rd.
assisted an out of gas motorist near US 160 and K-15 south of Burden.
a disabled motorist who already had help en route in the 4000 block of US 77.
were dispatched to a two vehicle non-injury accident in the 14000 block of 182nd Rd.
assisted a Udall Police officer with a traffic stop in the 6000 block of K-15.
assisted Winfield Police officers with a disturbance call in the 500 block of Alexander.
were dispatched to a report of suspicious activity by juveniles in Atlanta.
were dispatched to a report of a man threatening to harm himself near New Salem.
JULY 14
Deputies:
were requested to assist jail staff in moving an uncooperative inmate which was accomplished without incident.
were dispatched to a disturbance in the 6000 block of 322nd Rd. A female was arrested for criminal damage to property and criminal trespass.
were dispatched to the South Central Regional Medical Center regarding a battery that had reportedly occurred two days previously on 318th Dr.
transported two prisoners to the county jail for the Ark City Police Department.
were contacted regarding a mail tampering incident that was determined to have occurred in Harper County do the complainant was referred to that jurisdiction.
were dispatched to check for a reckless driver westbound from Ark City on US 166.
were dispatched to a business alarm at LaFarge North America in the 1000 block of 122nd Rd. The business was checked and found to be secure.
were dispatched to check the welfare of a dog in the 31000 block of 61st Rd.
were dispatched to a civil property dispute in the 6000 block of 244th Place.
were dispatched to a domestic disturbance in the 16000 block of US 160.
were dispatched to check a residential alarm in the 29000 block of 41st Rd.
checked a reported reckless driver in the 1300 block of N Third in Ark City.
assisted Cowley County Drug Task Force, Winfield Police Department, and the Kansas Bureau of Investigation with the execution of a search warrant in the city of Winfield.
JULY 15
Deputies:
were dispatched to check a 911 hangup call in the 7000 block of 242nd Rd.
were dispatched to check a suspicious person walking in the area of 111th Rd and 322nd Rd.
responded with Ark City Fire Department to a residential fire alarm in the 6000 block of Harding Arv. It was determined to be a faulty alarm.
responded with Dexter Fire Department and Winfield Fire Department to a report of two teenage girls who had been tubing on Grouse Creek north of Dexter when the creek suddenly rose causing them to be trapped against a sheer bank from which they could not escape on their own. The girls were assisted out of the creek by Dexter Fire personnel and were uninjured.
took a report of a non-injury car/deer accident that had occurred at about 6:00 am that morning in the 1000 block of US 160.
were dispatched to a one car non-injury accident .6 miles south of 242nd Rd on 85th Rd.
transported two prisoners to the county jail for the Ark City Police Department.
Following a stop for speeding in the 6000 block of 322nd Rd, Michael Stephen Wycoff, Columbia, Missouri, was arrested on a warrant out of Douglas County, KS.
