Every year, our family tries to come up with a fun way to wish Barack a happy birthday.
And this August 4th, when he turns 49, I have something new in mind.
This has been a big -- and hectic -- year for him. After signing the Affordable Care Act and Wall Street reform into law -- and completing his first year as president -- I think it's safe to say we will remember it for a long time.
And I know full well how much he credits this movement, and the work of supporters like you, for the change that we've accomplished.
So I'm putting together a birthday card that I would like you to sign. Together with other Organizing for America supporters -- and me, Malia, Sasha, and Bo -- we'll wish him a happy birthday and let him know that we're ready to take on the year ahead alongside him.
Will you wish Barack a happy birthday with me?
This year also brought a lot of surprises -- some good and some bad.
Supporters like you have helped him make the best of it -- by contacting Congress to help push stalled legislation forward, by re-engaging supporters in the political process, by giving back with service projects across the country, and so much more.
And while we can't know what the coming year will bring, all of us, working together, will continue pushing forward for change.
Will you help make this a memorable birthday for Barack and wish him a happy 49th?

ReplyDeleteI think that's a safe bet. Our great grandchildren will remember whe they are still paying our debt and while waiting in line at the clinic and ER. What a bunch of spin meisters. They really think those were good things?
Wow, pubs. You had almost 3 hours and that was the best you could do? Nothing about getting him a birth certificate for his birthday? How about a party for him and millions of his closest Latino friends? You guys are losing it.

How soon can I go to the mailbox and mail it to Obama? Right away. I'll be sure to sign it from both of us and tell him how much you love what he's doing to the country.

ReplyDeleteI can see now that you can't take a hint. Clearly you are the one who always bragged about how late you stayed at the party while the other folks in attendance, when speaking of the same event are saying, "We tried everything and he just wouldn't leave."
Of course, the local bigots would have no trouble believing that the First Lady of the United States of Ameerica is sending email begging a bunch of losers to help her celebrate the POTUS birthday. How hick!
One day AC will realize how far down the food chain they are. We are still printing articles that boast of recognition for someone who used to live here and got the H up out of here so they cold have a chance to become something.
They left here, never bothered to come back and laugh at us as we scavenge stories off the AP wire to make AC feel significant. Keep hating the president. Let's see who besides your other anonymous friends even knows, let alone cares.
