  1. Just a couple more new articles and your 200 post never-ending argument will be gone. What will you do? More local stuff? I don't think there is much polarizing stuff there.

Probably better go national/international and begin a new "us-vs-you", "I'm right, so you obviously don't get it," "No, I'm right, here's a link" thread.

I'll visit again in a few weeks or so.

  2. That's the thing. No one wants to discuss any issue anymore. People just want to argue...

  3. Well... it is sad, sad. the most controversial things get the most posts. Let jj put up something nice and ZERO posts. I am thinking people just love an argument. anonymously of course. IMO

Well IMHO there was some discussion that took place in that almost 200 post string! Alot, with differing viewpoints and subjects!

But, Posting about the weather or some other subject with a link to the forecast isn't really Journalism!

The events in Egypt do have the attention of every eye on the Planet! Mainly because of the Media! Be it right or wrong it is a significant event that may have a far reaching impact!

As for the Local Stuff - JJ have you ever met the new interim city manager? Talked with him - asked him for an interview?

Have you followed RCB - ever discussed their plans for AC/Winfield with one of their Staff or Executives?

Have you ever talked with the School Super. asked about challenges hes sees for the future or even isolated a School Board Memeber who might be willing to talk?

How about the Hospital and the new ED?

    What about good old ACI?

The Blog is what you make it!

As for the discussions or arguments if you don't like them just pull the PLUG!
(They are really a reflection and cross section of how people feel and think! That's probably a lot more important that you realize! Maybe it even serves a purpose and offers a chance for reflection and even understanding/compromise!)

  6. 8:37, I could not agree more. JJ complains about people taking over the blog, but the only thing he ever wants to discuss is womens volley ball or the weather, or other boring things. I find the back and forth to be very educational, and people who complain when people argue their viewpoint really don't understand what a blog is, and should stick to the editorial page of their local newspaper.

  7. To Tom Saw,
It's too bad most peoples' opinions are simply rehashings of what they are told by Beck, Fox, Rush...not necessarily viewpoints at all, now are they?

Your "they must not understand" logic perfectly proves my point-"I disagree with you - you obviously do not get it" is not a compelling argument for anything, other than the fact that you actually have no conviction in your beliefs to accept that someone may disagree.

  8. I think that what you really mean is that anyone who disagrees with YOUR opinion is simply rehashing things they heard from FOX news.

You disagree with everything "Beck, Fox, Rush" says, so anyone who disagrees with you is obviously wrong.

While I do not listen to any of the people you mentioned, I do have a conservative view, and that drives you libs NUTS! Too bad the majority of Americans share my views.

The only outlet I know who talks about Fox News more than Fox News is MSNBC. I bet you cried when Keith Olbermann got canned. haha
