  1. I have never understood why anyone would read the onion, or any site that just makes up stories just for the heck of it. Some people even believe it's real news. Just the other day Rachel Maddow posted a story about how dumb right wing people were from one of those satire websites. The only problem was that she was too dumb to realize it was satire and reported it as real news.

Yet, here you are. And you obviously visit the other, as you use it for comparison.

It's called humor. Not everyone gets it. I would pretty much expect you wouldn't think it was funny.

  4. Humor is one thing, but to pass it off in such a manner that some people believe it is counter-productive. Believe me, I am a funny guy... I get humor. But these sites that offer satire as news stories are just dumb.

3:47, I agree. I do check back here every few days, but where it was once was important to check it every day (several times a day) to see what was happening around town, now it is just pretty boring. I only come here out of habit, and rarely find anything interesting to discuss.

  5. @TS and 3:47-

Why then, when JJ opens up the forum to talk about anything you would like, do you not post something? What would you like to discuss?

Well on Baby Dave's blog if you agree with him thats fine - if not - and you post something (a little or maybe even Radical Right) he'll let it through to try to make you an example! He isn't smart enough to know your really are not that radical!

Now JJ, is not as selective - at least - about letting people express their feelings and opinions. However, if he disagrees he just DISCONNECTS from the discussion!

IDK, if he doesn't have the time or has lost interest in the blog or local news and events!
That's certainly his business and it is his blog! (Maybe he thinks it should be only (false)positive and feel good?)

    But

At least he lets people express their opinions and discuss things!

  7. At least he lets people express their opinions and discuss things!

Btw: Of all the things that stand out TODAY!

It's that people have so drawn lines that they fail to look for the REAL thing that is dividing them - Today it's Government!

Because in too may cases they have capitulated that/their (Own) responsibility(ies)!

    Also

    Happy Valentines Day!

  8. The beast of the book of Revelations first raised his head around 650 A.D., and not long after in 688 A.D.the abomination of desolation spoken of in the book of Daniel was established. The beast is once again on the rise, and our 'government' is helping to propagate it with our tax dollars. There will be no stopping it until the time of 'the end'

  10. "But pray ye that your flight be not in the winter, neither on the sabbath day: For then shall be great tribulation, such as was not since the beginning of the world to this time, no, nor ever shall be."

  13. Solar flares I tell y0u. That is how the end of the world will happen, a giant flare will destroy all of our electronics. Planes will longer function and fall from the sky, causing massive fires nationwide. All radio and mobile phone communication will be gone, landlines will not work because the electronic switches will have been fried. The satellites will all malfunction and come raining down on our heads in great balls of fire. An act of God? What's the difference we will all be dead. And finally the "New World Order" will be formed.
If this all happens at least the banks I bailed out will end up getting screwed because we will all be dead and they will not get any more of my mortgage payments. That will show those greedy bastards.
I say it is all a load of crap!

  18. Either you believe in the bible or you don't. If you do, then you know that "...the Lord Jesus shall be revealed from heaven with his mighty angels, in flaming fire taking vengeance on them that obey not the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ" IIThess. ch 1 v 7&8

8:14am, maybe you arent so far off

  20. 'and if you don't'...

"But the fearful, and UNBELIEVING, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death"
    Revealtions ch 21, v.8

Even if you don't believe, Jesus Christ still loves you, and died for your sins. Repent, believe, and be saved.

  21. Repent, and worship the all forgiving, peaceful and loving god of creation...

Or he will damn you to be tormented in the lake of fire for all of eternity, even though he could free you from said torment with a blink of his eye and forgive all your sins, welcoming you into the kingdom of heaven!

    contradict much?

And ask yourself what kind of a god would requires so much worship? Isn't that a sign of weakness in a human? If a ruler of a country demanded that he be worshipped and sang to by all his followers (prisoners), wouldn't he be petty and demented? What possible need could a true god have for worship or sacrifice? Doesn't it make more sense that humans gave their made up god these qualities to assure that the offerings kept coming in to the church that they ran, therefore making themselves rich?
