Arkansas City will not be the focus now, but we can still talk about the town. For now the blog is a blog in search of an identity. Considering what the new niche will be.

friday
Google has been having some trouble looks like. I posted something yesterday and now I dont see it at all. Couldnt sign on last night at all.
Seems to be working now.
Talk about whatever you like in this space.
Sometimes it just doesn't get any better than REAL LIFE:
So I was visiting with a local businessman and he told me he was working close to a local food bank! A car pulled up with two men and a woman who was driving.
One of the men got out of the car and was leaning heavily on a cain to walk. The disabled man and women went into the food bank and the third stayed in the car and was smoking.
The couple returned with two boxes of food put them in the trunk! Then the man with the cain put his cain in the trunk walked around and got in the car.
The businessman was astonished and being onery decided to follow them - They went to Mc Donalds!
Just when you thought you had things all figured out -
Now to be fair I don't know all the details other than his side of the story.
But
BEWARE THOSE EYES ATTACHED TO MOUTHS ARE WATCHING! (God might just be watching too!)
Btw: Just in case you think I am against any form of aid like providing food for the needy? (Puiblic or Private) I'm not -
Another person who has a fairly substantial income and a medium sized family and lives in Oklahoma said he could be eligible for aid with butter, and I believe milk and bread!
Now while knowing his situation - My response surprised him:
The are all "perishable items with short shelf lifes" that then are disposed of - either as animal food or trash!
The problem is probably more in defining the "who are the real NEEDY" and how to help them!
And
"That People are starving for the shortage/lack of FOOD."
Ain't no might about it. God Is watching. :) There will always be abuse. Always be con-men. I used to work with a guy - not in the midwest - who had a gambling problem. To hide his losses from his wife, he would put on ratty clothes and go to churches and ask for money to pay his bills. Well he was telling the truth, he didn't have the money to pay his bills.
On the other hand, sometimes you don't know what the real deal is.
Hey...

I thought I had better correct myself -
ReplyDeleteThe man in Oklahoma was only eligibe for aid with cheese and butter - no milk or bread.
I also made some errors in spelling cane instead of cain.
