  2. I'll not retype it verbatim, but if you can find local channel seven, the city bulletin boards; it
tells you if you want the Rotunda [Wilson Park] or the Pavillion [Paris Park] reserved you have to make a request in advance with the park department. ["No it's not an ordance"] but it's pretty clear. Sounds like a policy to me. But I suppose with those who claim media credentials and unquestionable knowledge, it would be spliting apples and oranges. If you could be trusted JJ, I would grant your request and no longer stay anonymous.

  3. i know its aye and not eye, i was being too creative i guess. thought people would just think it was humorous...

as for rotunda, wilson park, paris park etc., you do have to make a request to the city parks dept., NOT to the city commission. the commission does not approve such requests.
we used wilson park for some music festival stuff. just called up and asked, and that was that.

if you just want to show up at the park and have your event and take your chances that it is not in use, you can do that too..

the cyclist group does not need approval from the city. but it was a good move from a PR perspective to do what they did.

  4. I hope they can start a monthly rally similar to Cassody!
I'm not sure it will have the same attraction as that small town did in the Flint Hills!
I think Cassody's draw was from the North eastern part of the State as well as Wichita and some from this Area.
Those from the North East probably won't want to come this far South!
But they might get some others from Oklahoma!

Either way it will be interesting to see how it plays out - and you gotta give them credit for trying!

  5. Quote from Brand X.net -

"That event is dwindling because Cassoday doesn't receive any of the sales taxes paid by thevisitors."

Article from a more reputable, objective paper

There may be a positive to be found, but the negatives far outweigh it. This is NOT something we want in our town (unless you own a leather store!).
