Cowley's Lindsey Chandler gets a kill over Laisha Davis of Seminole State during Tuesday's game. |
Emily Barto reacts to a good play. |
The teams were evenly matched.
Both had their moments and runs. Cowley won the first game and lost the second and both games were fairly tight. Third game, toward the end it looked like Seminole State was going to win. A couple of timeouts in a fairly short amount of time got the Lady Tigers going. From that point they played much better.
The fourth game went to extra points, and Seminole was in position to win at one point, serving with a one point lead at the end, but Cowley managed three unanswered points to take the win and avoid the fifth game.
The Lady Tigers have a couple more games at home before the playoffs.
Sounds like the COACH knows her talent, understands the game and recognizes the swings in momentum, then uses that to maximize or get their best performance!
ReplyDeleteYes, I should have written more on that.
ReplyDeleteI was sitting behind the bench where they were and I could sort of hear the conversation.
One interesting thing she does between games on in a timeout, is let the players talk for a moment. Then she tells them what they need to hear.
She chewed on them a little.
Then adjusted a couple things.
The way she managed the team was impressive and the girls responded very well.
Before sending them out the last time, before the final surge that put Cowley over the top.
she said.
"just play volleyball. thats all. just play volleyball."
they did.
