Cowley Jazz Band performs

The Cowley Jazz Band performed last night at Cowley College. See more pictures on the Web site, as well as other updates. Cowley basketball as well as hunting and fishing.

Joined by the Cowley College Guitar Ensemble, the Cowley College Jazz Band conducted its fall concert Thursday in the Robert Brown Theatre.
Audience members enjoyed six pieces of music performed by the Jazz Band and four songs from the Guitar Ensemble.
The Jazz Band performed Cabin Fever, Rent Party, Penthouse View, Small Wonders, Ned, and J.B. Cowley students Jessica Coldwell, Dan Byers, Clay Wiley, Jeremiah Johnson, Robert Hutson, and Caleb Johnston served as soloists during the performances.
Josh Fleig, instrumental music director at Cowley College, directed the concert and accompanied the guitar ensemble on bass guitar.
The Guitar Ensemble performed Bill’s Bay, Stylin’, The Unicorn Awakes, and We’ve Got Rhythm. Byers and Johnston joined Matt Smith, Michael Bowling, Zach Johnson, and Clayton Lupfer as guitar ensemble players. Paul Peterson served as an accompanist on drums.
Members of the Jazz band are, Dan Byers, Robert Hutson, Richard Gould, Kesha Falletti, Bonnie Thieme, Mitchell Wright, Matt Smith, Gavin Richardson, Clay Wiley, Cory Dalton, Jake Fletcher, Caleb Johnston, Jessica Coldwell, Christine Logan, Kirk Godfrey, Jeremiah Johnson, and Chad Buttram.
The next major performance in the Robert Brown Theatre will be the Concert Band’s performance Thursday, Nov. 12 at 7 p.m. There is no cost to attend the concert.
