Here is a story im surprised the "media" has not really picked up on.
The very conservative Ann Coulter had her tour in Canada canceled because she engaged in "hate speech."

I dont care much for Coulter. She is a very mean spirited nasty person, but ... I dont agree with any hate speech laws. Of course, it is the law in Canada. You cant criticize muslims, or gays .. but you can criticize whites, jews, christians ect.
Anyway, they pretty well shut her down there.
I would really hate to see any kind of law like that here.
Freedom of speech should include hate speech. You cant really even define hate speech. THAT is a slippery slope to losing freedom of speech.
Here is another story .. about the girl in mississippi who wanted to take her girlfriend to the prom, and she wanted to wear a tuxedo. School officials canceled the prom after the ACLU got involved, and then a federal judge ruled against the school board.
There is going to be a private prom now, held by parents. They didn't say if they would let the girl bring her girlfriend to that.
This is an example of tyranny of the minority.
Her tour was not cancelled because of hate speech, it was cancelled because her body guard didn't think it was safe for her to go in because of threats made by liberals to do her harm.

HAHA They might throw Tofu at them or something. They must really love their freedom of speech up there in Canada.

Of course she'd be upset. Of course the other school kids would blame her for getting prom cancelled. I'd probably sue too if the school said I couldn't bring my girlfriend for whatever reason. What did she do wrong?
It was the school that took the drastic step of cancelling prom. How did the girl in question become a tyrant? The school was the one that shut everything down. The other kids should be thanking her for trying to get prom going again.

But, why should one person be so selfish that they want their way at the expense of all the others - it was their prom too!

You want to support the right of an individual in this case against the majority!
Then plead against the rights of individuals as the majority when it comes to healthcare!

Minority wants to rule the majority in both cases!
I thought in other posts like the one about Scripture Hill you said that was the right of the majority!
So, which is it?
Tyranny - Harsh, aboslute, and unfair rule by a King or other ruler.
I didn't see anywhere in the definition that it said group or majority!
Tyrants are usually the minority!
