political games

Republicans are using any means possible to try to stop health care reform.
Here is a link to the story about the maneuvers.
They are just using technicalities to try to stop the bill. Not sure it will succeed, but it is just another example of political games.
Now Republicans were criticizing Democrats for using political games and tricks to get the thing passed, now they are using political games and tricks to try to derail it. Just another example of political hypocrisy that makes people cynical.
Democrats have done the same thing, but that doesn't make it right.
It is just laughable when one party criticizes the other for using political tricks to try to get what they want.

Here is another link about violence and threats against democratic lawmakers who supported the health care reform.

This was what i was talking about the other day, with the level of anger and so forth. It is a bit scary. I just wonder who or what is really behind stirring people up so much.

Ultimately, it's people like you, jj. Indirectly. You say you won't take sides in another thread, but, with every post you take a side. You REALLY should re-read your writing. You're no different from CNN, ABC, PBS, etc. Oh, there is one difference...you put a little Christian spin on yours.

  3. I think that's what happens in a Democracy!
Where people vote for representation and expect that their voices and "will" be heard/done!
While they realize its not always possible for things to go exactly the way they want - they expect some type of compromise!
I don't think they saw that!
Just representatives who sold their souls for the deals they got and the Bill they just passed!
Now if Obama can just get the Military or the Police to stop all this anger/violence!
    Things will be just fine!

  4. The Dimocrats (yes I spelled it correctly) have excluded the Republicans from any participation in the health bill. The Dims used their majority to keep the repubs in check and force this monstrosity on the people.

In January 2011 I believe you will see many many new faces in DC. It is time for all Americans to stand up and reclaim THEIR government.

It is time WE say NO to politics as usual. No more back room deals, no more pork, no more special privildges for Congress and Senate. Regardless of the political party, WE should demand reform or vote their worthless asses out..

The Dems used their games to force upon this Nation a bill the majority of the people DID NOT WANT.

The Repubs used their games to try and stop this bill.

The Health Care bill was a "career ending move" by the Dems. November 2010 will be the day.

  6. Im still not sure "The majority" of people do not want the bill. its pretty well evenly split, though there is a slight majority against it.
If it were 70 percent against it, or even 60, i might agree. But when its like 52 percent, that just isnt that much of a majority.

The dims did try to get the pubs to cooperate. The pubs refused, and then claimed they were shut out. Just politics as usual.
Bush and the republicans used the same chicanery that the dems do. Im just saying both parties do it, so its hypocritical when they accuse each other...

  7. You know in some ways this kind of reminds me of the OJ Simpson trial!
They simply knew they couldn't find him Guilty!
They knew that the damage from all that Publicity and Racial tension would simply explode in the streets!
What we are seeing today! Is the extreme degree of polarization that has been achieved through the different peoples expectations of Government!
That is the result of allowing the Society to fade away from individual accountability and responsibility and into dependancy!

    ...............
Taking a side on an individual issue is not the same thing as buying into a political party. I'm not saying I don't take sides on individual issues. I just don't buy into either party, or either philosophy as a guiding principle.

OMG! DO YOU EVEN READ ANYTHING WE PUT ON HERE? DO YOU JUST FORM AN IDEA WITH LITTLE OR NO RESEARCH AND THEN STICK TO IT NO MATTER WHAT EVIDENCE COMES ALONG? Oh, I forgot, you believe everything in the bible is historical fact too.

This was put on a thread yesterday (From CNN no less):

    From CNN March 22nd, 2010:

"A CNN/Opinion Research Corporation poll found that 59 percent of those surveyed opposed the bill, and 39 percent favored it. All of the interviews were conducted before the House voted Sunday night, but the contents of the bill were widely known.

In addition, 56 percent said the bill gives the government too much involvement in health care; 28 percent said it gives the government the proper role and 16 percent said it leaves Washington with an inadequate role.

On the question of costs, 62 percent said the bill increases the amount of money they personally spend on health care; 21 percent said their costs would remain the same and 16 percent said they would decrease."

IT'S NOT A DEBATE IF ONE SIDE JUST PUTS THEIR FINGERS IN THEIR EARS AND YELLS "I CAN'T HEAR YOU! I CAN'T HEAR YOU!"

  12. Proverbs 15:7 'grievous words stir up anger.'

    Deuteronomy 12:8
'every man whatsoever is right in his own eyes'

Perhaps this can help us understand somethings. The war of words going on 'nationwide' will help nothing.
Democrat or Republican..... everyman thinks his way is right..... (and the proof.... re-read your blogs...not just jj.... but EVERYBODY!

  13. jj, I think what is making everyone mad is that Barry opens his mouth and then won't follow through on what he promised. Example I will wait 72 hours before signing this bill, and then like all the rest, when his lips move you know he's lying.

  14. @11:18 don't waste your breath (i mean keystrokes) I don't think any of that matters to jj. Honor, backroom deals, lying, buying votes, The POTUS's word of honor, etc. He'll just couch with "Oh well, the pubs do it too!"

i also posted some stuff this morning that was pretty conservative.
thats the problem with many conservatives. if you disagree with them on one point they want to label you instead of actually thinking.

  19. It's called being narrow-minded, but again, if you go there you are a "name-caller," and "childish." They refuse to consider your side, and tell you what you don't understand about theirs.

  20. And liberals aren't like that at all, are they? They are completely open to other points of view; They never call names; and they smell pretty.

    NOT!

  22. Liberal thinking will be the downfall of this country. I can see the decline it has had on the last 60 years or so, and it will only continue. Soon we will be a nanny state, and there will be no reason to work hard for the American dream, because that America will be dead and buried under your socialism.
