political fighting

More politics. Obama made a bunch of appointments while the Senate is on recess, circumventing the normal procedure. This means the senate does not get to approve them. Here is the link to the story.
Also here is a quote from the story ... just to show that its politics as usual

Both Republican and Democratic presidents have made recess appointments, which circumvents the Senate's authority to confirm nominees, when they could not overcome delays. President George W. Bush made more than 170 such appointments in his two-term presidency. President Bill Clinton made nearly 140.

  1. The 15 appointees to boards and agencies include the contentious choice of union lawyer Craig Becker to the National Labor Relations Board. Republicans had blocked his nomination on grounds he would bring a radical pro-union agenda to the job, and they called on Obama not to appoint Becker over the recess.

Well your right about the political games!
Obama, simply has his agenda! He wants to change the structure of America! He is intent on that goal by and through any means!

I once meant a Englishman who was a truckdriver form Btitain! He came to the U.S. to marry someone he had meant on the internet!
He told me of THE POWER THE UNIONS have in EUROPE!
They can essentially shutdown the Country to get their way! (Reminds me of the UAW and Auto Inudstry here - who virtually destroyed that industry! Then asked the Government to bail it out with taxpayer money!)

Obama, is a Socialist! Pure and Simple!
His answers are those of other Socailist Countries!

    If you want Socialism?
    I don't!

    Therein, lies the divide!

  2. The Republican party is killing America. Too bad -- we need good ideas and hard work from all sides to fix all of the problems of the W. Years. Hopefully their behavior will provoke Americans to choose progress over negativity this November. Angry Republicans -- where are your ideas (aside from tax cuts for the wealthy, more offshoring American manufacturing, more wars, less oversight of defense contractors, less enforcement of financial regulations, etc), and what have you actually done to try to make things better?

THEY WERE BLOCKED by the Democrats!
Just like it is going to be in Nov. 2010!
Until Obama is out of OFFICE in 2012!

I agree we need good leaders - but Socialism isn't AMERICA!

  4. A union lawyer appointed to the labor relations board. Hmmm. Didn't I hear Obama say something about NOT pandering to the unions during his campaign of hope and change? Oh well, he must have had his fingers crossed. Come to think of it, he must have had them crossed a LOT during the campaign. I hope they came apart okay. I'd hate to see him get arthritis or something.

    From a CNN Article:

The U.S. Chamber of Commerce said in a statement that "Mr. Becker's prolific writings ... suggest a radical view of labor law that flies in the face of established precedent and case law and is far outside the mainstream."

Seems like there are more speaking out than just the Republicans!

  6. Sure his appointments were politics as usual. That should not be a surprise.
That's what appointments are for. You get to use them to pay back those who helped get you elected. You know when theres a new president elected - or even a new governor - lots of people lose their jobs because so many favors need returning.

  7. What is no surprise to conservatives who did their homework before the election is that Obama is the most radical President in the history of this country, and he would see this country drug kicking and screaming into socialism were it politically possible. We tried to warn the rest of America, but there were just too many people with their hands out wanting the wealth to be redistributed their way. Maybe enough people will wake up by November 2012.
