Arkansas City will not be the focus now, but we can still talk about the town. For now the blog is a blog in search of an identity. Considering what the new niche will be.
a flat black, non-reflective statue in the middle of the roundabout. Great idea! Then nobody will be able to see it at night. Just make sure the front legs of the reared up horse are the proper height to go through someone's windshield when they drive across the middle.
Why would the City let an outside funding source use its governing body to place a statue,, who is going to want a pay off down the road? Whose purpose are we serving? Why will the city not use its resources to serve its citizens instead of always wanting to make appearance overshadow its financial abilities? Controversy brings contempt and corruption, we now have a city council who is outspent its ability to survive on its own funding, I think the revolution will be seen in the next election
Well, this "outside" entity is Ark City people, and they offered and approached the city with the project. The group is fading away, and had some money, and wanted to dispose of it. They could have had a nice weekend in cancun and no one would have been the wiser. They used the money to give to the people of the city ... and you find a way to bitch about that.
Mel and Pat agreed that if you are going to be spending nearly $30,000 for an audit, you should also at least agree in principle to actually do what they say.
this outside entity should keep thier money and use it for some humnitairian work instead of a memorial to thier wealth.
Millions of people with no food or cloths and you want to build a statue,, that is sooooooooo stupid and self vanity,, very typical of the religious nut cakes in the area who want to make them selves appear so great, yet they are hypocrits to Gods words
