I spent entirely too much time today messing with trying to get these numbers right. Had trouble getting them from the Dept. of Revenue material to the blog. YES, I copied and pasted from the Dept of Revenue.
The numbers below show how much money Arkansas City received each month from sales tax from the state. I think the other two groups of numbers pretty well explain themselves.
I just put these up to show that maybe we are not in as dire of a condition as we thought. I know we are in a recession, but sometimes the media creates fear where there doesn't have to be.

ReplyDeleteChrysler is planning to cut 800 dealers. This would be a good story for you JJ. You could interview the folks at Zellers and at Winfield Motors and get their thoughts before anybody else.
