Just briefly.
City approved the beer garden. Two people formally spoke against it, and another lady, Pearl Turner, spoke informally about it.
No one really spoke for it, but it had been discussed before.
The sale of the hospital bonds was formally approved. All the bonds are sold and they got a decent rate at about 6.7 percent.
City Attorney Tamara Niles went over some state laws that will affect us as the commission adjusted its codes to reflect state law.
One of the biggest things is that if you have a wreck you have to move your car if it is going to obstruct traffic. I know, for years we have all been taught to not move your car, but now the law is changing.
It takes affect next July and warnings will be issued the first year.
Ill add more to the story and post it later tonight.
I sure hope people are going to be lucky enough to have a witness or both parties will be honest. I had some guy rearend my car and he moved his truck and guess what, because of that he wasn't issued a citation.
ReplyDeleteDoes that mean even if its only blocking one lane on summit you still have to move the vehicles and I'm guessing if they are unmovable the law doesn't apply to that?(A little dry humor there)
ReplyDeleteThat is the dumbest thing I've heard in awhile. How are the police supposed to do accident reconstruction if the cars are moved before they get there? So stupid.
ReplyDeleteI am more concerned with drunk drivers on the road. About a month ago my girlfriends and I saw Robin Wallace being tested for DUI at summit and radio lane by a trooper. We never saw her name in the police notes being arrested so we assumed that the cops just let her go. Maybe because of who she is married to? It was in the afternoon so her driving must have been seriously bad. We watched for about 45 minutes and no trip to the POPO. So what happened James? We want to know.

I would have deleted that post, but i just wanted to tell people, that i really doubt robin wallace was in that position about a month ago.
She was in a back brace for a good while.
Not sure she was even driving during that time.
One of wallace's sons was popped for minor in consumption, and that was in the cop notes.
You need to have some proof if you are going to make accusations like that.
All radio traffic is recorded James and would be considered public record. Ask for it you will be surprized with the result.
