City Commission

City commissioners are set to sign the papers to sell the bonds to finance a new hospital. Its all but a done deal. I have a full story on the web site. www.arkcityrevived.com
There is a story on the web site about how it will go on monday.
The hospital board meets, then the public building commission meets, then the city commission meets, and if all sign on the dotted line, it will be a done deal. From there bids are let and ground is broken.
Commissioner Dotty Smith was concerned about the impact of President Obama's health initiatives, and whether the bonds could be paid off by the hospital. She doesn't want that to come back on the citizens.
Commissioner Jean Snell said there is always a risk in anything. He and other commissioners seemed confident.
"It's time to suit up and go," Snell said.
The idea of a TIF district was also discussed some. That keeps coming up. It is a difference of philosophies on the commission, but one could happen.
They could set one up and have it ready if an industry shows up.
They also went through the agenda.

  1. They need to hurry up and get it started. The majority of the community voted for it. Get it going. And tell Dotty to put a sock in it. Not everything new is bad.

Yes I do wish it was more near the town, but it is not a deal breaker for me.
