Proverbs 29:18
Where [there is] no vision, the people perish: but he that keepeth the law, happy [is] he.
Proverbs 29:22
An angry man stirs up dissension, and a hot-tempered one commits many sins.
Proverbs 29:23
A man's pride brings him low, but a man of lowly spirit gains honor.

Where there is no vision - no truth - no revelation, people suffer.
What is vision?

  1. Intersting question!
If you follow the News there are debates ongoing on that very subject. From the budget problems in California, the Iranian conflict, the Iraq and Afganistan wars to the recent conflict in China.
It really isn't the lack of "Visions" but more a conflict of Visions.
If you follow Iran the youth of that country are discontent because of the extrememly poor economy that restricits their ability to get married. All the time the ruling Goverment chooses to pursue Nuclear capabilities and control the export of oil. The youth see this as their time and there is a conflict of Visions!
Also, the women are not allowed some of the rights of their peers in other countries.
So it may not be a lack of Visions that is the problem but a lack of leaders and their ability to identify and unify the common visions for the people.
In California there is a serious debate over budget and what must be cut or changed to make the sysytem work. Again conflicting visions!
Even in the local area there are conflicting Visions. The Big Box was a good example and their are others.
So, vision is different things to different people. Leadership is the ability to direct people to fulfill a vision!

  5. I shook hands with Mel after the last commission meeting and thanked him for the 2 million dollar bond for new rec ball fields. He said “it’s easy to give away money and make people happy but would have shook my hand if I had voted no we can’t afford this?”.

    No
