about ads

Oh my goodness.
The Google ads are getting out of hand. These are the ads I am not supposed to "encourage" you to click on. I am paid per click on those. The other ads are on commission.
Anyways, I wanted to explain about those Google ads. I do not have any control over what shows up. It is a bit spooky to think about, but, the Google monster "crawls" my blog and picks out ads based on that.
This was fine when we were traveling in New Mexico.
Somehow the Google-meister decided that my site needed ads for condoms today. We were discussion abortion, so I guess some key words got the Google's attention.
As I said, Oh my goodness.
I was a bit embarrassed.
Then tonight, I see there are ads for "bible teachers."
I checked a couple of them out and in my opinion some of them offer destructive teachings.
I think i would rather be embarrassed by a condom ad than a false bible teacher, so I don't know which is worse.
As it is written, "beware the leaven of the Pharisees."

  1. I found the condom ad very beneficial. Last night I bought a pack and tried one on my lady.

  3. James Jordan is a joke and was a joke at the Traveler. That's precisely why I love his blog. I'm an editor at a major newspaper. I can say for sure I would never hire him. However, I love reading his work for the comical value and reaffirming what not to do as a journalist.

  4. @ 2:42
do you sleep well at night with all that hatred? I guess I don't get why some people are just jerks all the time.

  5. Jen..people like that have little love in their lives. You show the world what you have in abundance inside you. I struggle with that myself at times, I can get a bit rude. But I try to remember that a kind word will often turn away anger. Another thing, and this is probably more important, Is he speaking from a Christ Centric point of view or from a self point of view. I may not understand him, but I do have pity for him.

  6. James! I think you made the big time! You have an editor from a MAJOR newspaper reading your blogs. Do you suppose the Wichita Eagle? The Chicago Tribune? The New York Post? I just wish whoever it was would identify theirself.

  7. ha ha
Well i think its more like a town within 30 miles of here. "Major" newspaper is relative.
There is the major newspaper of Cowley County, or maybe Kay County.
But it would be cool if it was a national major paper eh :)
She-He, also put that on another post from yesterday. There's only a couple people that I know with that much venom in their soul.

  8. I doubt seriously that the poster has anything to do with any newspaper, let alone a a MAJOR one. They could be a paperboy/girl I supposee.

James should be able to see their IP address, which might tell where they're from.

How cool would it be if it were from the new editor of the Traveler?! haha Just kidding. They would never stoop that low I'm sure.

  9. Oh my goodness! A condom add!

Oh say a prayer and ask for forgiveness.

Lordy JJ, Condoms are one of the greatest inventions ever.

And what was the destructive bible teachings? Was it from a different point of view than the baptists...oh no!

well i shouldnt have said it like that.
it was something that would make baptist look like flaming liberals.
like more rules to follow to "really" be saved.

  11. This makes me sick. It is a comment in the Eagle today from the leader of an aborion protest group that gave Dr. Tiller problems for years.

We are thankful that Tiller's clinic will not reopen and thankful that Wichita is now abortion-free," said Troy Newman, president of Operation Rescue, a Wichita-based anti-abortion group.
"We have worked very hard for this day"

How can someone with any tact what so ever be happy. This was a result of murder, terrorism. Disgusting! I hope this encourages young people in medical school to become abortion providers and open a practice in Wichita. I am so mad at Kansas right now.

  12. Well I believe the guy did say on TV that he was sorry that it was going to close this way!
But, they also expected it to eventually close.
Why don't you people spend some of that energy promoting the good things that can come from a relationship and family rather than looking for solutions to the bad things that result from selfish and self-centered behaviors?

  13. The crazy right wing nut jobs struck again today with a shooting at the holocaust museum. I imagine most folks in Kansas don't believe the holocaust really happened and are quite happy someone is finally going to do something about it.

    ReplyDelete
  14. Now maybe Operation Rescue can buy the holocaust museum too.

What kind of complete MORON would believe something like that? Now everyone that shoots someone is a republican, and Kansans don't believe in the holocaust? You need some serious mental help. Please seek professional guidance.

  16. Why is it that people have to lump people together just because a few loonies go off the deep end? I am a somewhat conservative, honorable-dischaged veteran who owns guns, beleives in the Constitution, small government, and am pro-life (I also watch Fox News on occasion). Does that classify me as a loony as this guy in Washington DC or the guy who killed Dr. Tiller? I am not going to shoot someone just because they do not beleive in what I believe (actually, I wouldn't shoot anyone, unless they threatened my family in my house, and then I take a bat to them first). Stop lumping Sane people in with the insane ones.

  17. Guess that makes the Islamic nut job that shot the US soldier in Missouri a left wing nut job. And funny how that didn't get as much coverage as Dr. Tiller's murder. A US soldier gets killed on US soil by an self proclaimed Islamic terrorist and no one cares? Katie Couric did not cover this, Charles Gibson did not mention it -- WHY? I guess the left thinks Dr. Tiller is more of an American hero than a US soldier -- doesn't surprise me. When it doesn't fit their agenda, the Drive by media doesn't care.

  18. AND David Letterman is a disgusting jerk - I'm glad he's on the left side. I'm sure you are all proud of him too. He should lose his job for the comments he made about Palin's daughter. Why is it ok for the Left to degrade women? I'm glad you all think it is funny.

    ReplyDelete
  19. The left is certainly showing its intolerance of anyone it does not agree with.
Just backs up my assertion that both sides are more interested in playing politics - regardless of the issue - than they are in progress.

    ReplyDelete
  20. 1. Anyone here that is a reasonable adult, can let the condom ads slide, no reason to be embarressed.
    2. David letterman was not the only one on tv that made fun of any member of the Palin family, tina fay(sp?) continuously made fun of sara palin.

    ReplyDelete
  21. True, but to make disgusting comments about her daughter is wrong, let alone the ones he made about her. And his attempt to be funny last night was just as bad. But like I said - I can tell you all are proud and find humor in degrading women on the Right. Good for you, I'm glad there is a double standard.

  22. Can you imagine if someone talked about Michelle Obama that way or Sasha and Melia? HMMMM???? Bet that would cause a fuss.

    ReplyDelete
  23. I posted the June 11, 2009 9:20 AM comment and I am a woman and I simply pointed out that alot of tv personalities made fun of the Palin family, not just Letterman. I don't find humor in any of it no matter which side I am on.

    ReplyDelete
  24. Funny how no one is calling for him to step down or be fired. Where is all the women's right groups?

    ReplyDelete
  25. Yes, if the obama kids were being made fun of, there would be major upheaval.
    Hmmmm
    Ok ill start it.
The obama kids are rich spoiled brats and have bad breath.
how long will it take for me to get on CNN do you think. :)

    ReplyDelete
  26. Uh Oh, the secret service will be paying JJ a visit soon. So will Obama's group of prosecutors that threatened to charge anyone who said anything negative about Obama during the campaign.

    ReplyDelete
  27. now you done james! ouch! ha! bet not long to get in that news paper. dang blog won't let me post at times.

    ReplyDelete
  28. At least he didn't joke about an older man doing suggestive things to an underage 14 year old girl like Letterman did. Even if he actually meant the 18 year old, that's disgusting. I'm sorry, I have a 19 year old and that would still be wrong. I'm not sure why kids are off limits with all other politicians, but not the Palins? Kids are not the ones running for office here.

    ReplyDelete
  29. sorry. 10:12 should have said now you done it. always knew i couldn't type.

  30. "The crazy right wing nut jobs struck again today with a shooting at the holocaust museum. I imagine most folks in Kansas don't believe the holocaust really happened and are quite happy someone is finally going to do something about it."
    ----------------------------------
The man who shot up the Holocaust museum hated Rebublicans, neo-cons, and John McCain. In fact he believed 9/11 was an inside job, sounds more like a leftie to me. So why is it you think that because someone is a racist he is a Right wing nut job? Like the lefties don't hate anyone, please. A little research would do you some good.

So is Rev. Wright a right wing nut job too - he doesn't like Jewish people either??? How do you explain that? His recent comment about not talking to President Obama -- "Those Jews won't let him talk to me" He's a nice guy President Obama ran with for 20 years huh?

    ReplyDelete
  31. Why does every conversation have to have left or right involved in it? Jeez, it gets tiresome. Its said over and over. Two people were recently killed by nutcases who perceive things in a totally radical, wrong way.
Alot of people watched that documentory(can't remember the name of it) on Bush and 9/11. The guy that did it, had so many people believing it was done on purpose. Come on, does anyone really believe that? I usually vote democrat, but not always and I for one minute do not believe it was an inside job.

    ReplyDelete
  32. I'm just responding to those saying the Holocaust shooter was a Right wing nut job -- it was on more than this blog too --MSNBC, NBC, CNN, ABC -- all of them saying he was. I agree with you -- you can't lump everyone into one category. Pretty soon they will be blaming all murders on the Right, regardless of who did it and why.

  33. Sexism is sexism and I am glad that people are outraged by Letterman's comments. Successful women in politics and their daughters have been targets of sexist comments for many years. Ask a Clinton.

    ReplyDelete
  34. I haven't heard anyone on a major network besides Fox say they are outraged -- if I'm wrong let me know and who said they were...I'm just curious here.

    ReplyDelete
  35. Byte, I took your advise and asked Bill Clinton.

    He said "Sex?? Where?"

    ReplyDelete
  36. @ 12:12

That actually made me laugh, heh. Well played.

    ReplyDelete
  37. Letterman writes the top 10 lists now? He used to have writers for that. Hm.

    ReplyDelete
  38. Sexism? What's that? Men and women each know they're place. Though a few of them are getting a bit uppity.

  39. It was a joke on late night TV. Have you ever watch Letterman, Leno, Conan, the British dude after Letterman, the new dork on late night... they say stupid crap all the time much racier than that. And Letterman emplied that Alex Rodriquez (druggy, womanizing ballplayer from NYC) was wanting to get with Palin's daughter. Crazy Republicans are trying to twist it. Relax hot heads!

    ReplyDelete
  40. Ooooo....you went there, now you gonna get it!

    ReplyDelete
  41. Oh I get it on here about every other day or so. No big deal. Someone needs to tell the truth.

    Kim Benedict maybe?

    ReplyDelete
  43. No, I still think its someone at the "major paper" in Kay County.

    ReplyDelete
  44. Ok, I saw Today show (NBC) interview Palin. I read all you comments about the Letterman "joke". Now, thanks to all the incessant rant about it, I will have to look on the internet and find out what it was. Funny how people sometimes turn some trite matter into something bigger simply because they won't stop talking about it and rehashing it.

It's can't be a unique comment. You all are just being manipulated by mass media marketing. That's a good way for Letterman to get publicity. It's just like the doofus who was willing to get arrested so the media could replay him jumping onto the court to harrass Federer at the French Open or whatever Open it was.

You are selling Letterman for free when, if you would stop barking about it, they would have to pay to promote him.

    ReplyDelete
  45. I haven't watched Letterman in years but I am a big fan now. He has my support forever now.
