Burglary, Theft, Criminal Damage to Property
On 06-22-2009 officers of the Arkansas City Police Department responded to A to Z recycling for a reported burglary. When officers arrived they learned that an unknown suspect or suspects had entered the front door of the business using a skid loader that was parked out front. Once inside the building over 300 pounds of copper was taken, along with a dolly. Officers followed shoe prints in the dirt to Veterans Lake where the suspects loaded the copper into a vehicle and ditched the dolly and barrel in the lake. With the help of employees from Winfield Iron and Metal 2 suspects were identified. The suspects were stopped in the vehicle they had used during the crime. Following interviews both suspects confessed and were taken to the county jail on $5000.00 bond each. Numerous evidence items were found in the suspects possession at the time of arrest.
John Wooten and Tommy Hayden both of Ark City were arrested for Burglary, Theft, and Criminal Damage to Property.
