Arkansas City will not be the focus now, but we can still talk about the town. For now the blog is a blog in search of an identity. Considering what the new niche will be.

fire call
The Arkansas City Fire Department was called out late this morning to Carls Barbeque in Arkansas City. Pictured are firemen checking out the barbeque pit beside the store. It apparently got out of control. The fire was under control quickly.
Common where in the BBQ world? Not in Lawrence, KC, STL, OKC, or NOLA. I've lived in those towns for long periods of time and enjoyed BBQ 7 days/week. Maybe a rural community thing.
Yea, maybe. The ones in Ponca are open all the time. I think the one in Newkirk is not open every day? In South Carolina there were lots of them. They would open up thursday night or friday a.m., and go till they sold out saturday evening.
Hey, there's smoke coming out of that thingy. And it smells like ribs! What do you call that thing? A Smoker? Why do ya call it that?
ReplyDeleteSeems like they only run the thing one day a month. I wish we had another BBQ joint in town.
ReplyDeleteI found out, they are open Thursday and Friday, all day. Until about 7.
ReplyDeleteThats pretty common in tbe bbq world.
There was one on the south side of town for awhile, not sure what happened to it.
There are a few businesses that I think would do well here.
