On Tuesday, 09-15-2009, at 5:06 p.m. an officer was dispatched to O'Reilly Auto Parts at 1611 N. Summit in Arkansas City. Officers made contact with a representatives of the Loss Prevention Department from O'Reilly Auto Parts. The store reported that the inventory of the store has not been correct for about 6 months. The employees had talked with the manager and the manager confessed to embezzling money by making fake returns.
Curtis Proffitt, of South Haven, was arrested and sent to the Cowley County jail on a felony theft charge with a $2000.00 bond.
