Thanksgiving dinner with Dotty

I completely forgot to mention what happened at the end of the city commission meeting Tuesday night.
Commissioner Dotty Smith invited everyone in Arkansas City to come to the senior center on Thanskgiving Day, for dinner, starting at 3 p.m.
She said she came up with idea while trying to plan for her extended family, which is too large for her house.
She ended up reserving the senior center, and decided to make it a community event.
She said people are already getting involved. Turkeys have been donated, as well as some other items.
If you would like to get involved with helping, contact her through City Hall.

  1. It just has to be said!

Thanksgiving turkey with the City Commissoners, or at least with commissioner Doty. Is that "turkey with turkeys"..........?

  2. Is this a city sanctioned event? Or is a commissioner using the city's public media operation to advertise a private function?

  3. now THATS taking naysaying to a whole nuther level.
I suppose it is using the city's public media operation as you suggest.
But, she has invited everyone in town - the public.
Also, she has frequently used the city's public media operation, as a means to support festivals and other events in the community.

  10. Seriously, I hope it was a joke.
Opposing something like this would be unimaginable. Almost as if someone might have anything negative to say about the President of The United States speaking to school children about the importance of staying in school, and working hard.
